Bachelor of Science in Technical Resource Management (TRM)

TRM Management Concepts

Program Overview
The Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Resource Management (TRM) requires a minimum of 120 semester hours, with a minimum of 60 semester hours at SIUC or another approved four-year institution, and completion of the 30-hour residency requirements for a degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

 

Relevant

The TRM degree adds to your previous technical training through a combination of University Core Curriculum requirements, TRM courses, and approved advanced electives.

TRM courses are relevant to today's technical manager.  Students study work center management, build communication skills, analyze data, evaluate quality, and learn to manage projects.  Other learning opportunities include the study of labor relations, financial and legal management, green technology, and professional development.

 

 

 
Flexible

The TRM program is designed to fit the needs of both traditional transfer students and working adults.

 

Schedule options include:

  • 1 - 2 nights/week

  • 2 days/week

  • Distance education (including on-line/semester-based and self-study/self-paced options)

Individualized

Students work with an advisor to choose approved advanced electives that specifically address their career objectives.  Southern Illinois University offers courses in dozens of disciplines, including accounting, advertising, administration of justice, art and design, civil engineering / land surveying, computer science, environmental studies, health care management, industrial technology, marketing, workforce education, and many others.  The TRM degree can be your springboard to advancement in almost any career field.
